5-0 Radio (free) is an awesome little app. It's a police scanner right on your iPhone. Live scanner feeds, local and world wide. Not only does it to live feed police scanners, it also does short wave radio feeds, amateur radio feeds, and linked repeaters.
I use it mainly for the live police scanner which is broadcast in real time. I've compared it to a real desktop scanner I have. So I trust the app.
The free edition is honestly all you need. Sure it has ads, sure there's a couple things you can't do with it. However if your just a listener like me. You don't need the upgrade.
It uses feeds provided by RadioReference.com . Which is a user based radio feed site. Those with an account can find feeds to link to and they'll broadcast it out for internet players, and 5-0 radio.
It does require connection to the internet. Either your cellular data, or a wifi connection.
The upgade version is also only $1.99. Which isn't bad for a fully functioning, radio app. So if your a HAM, an amateur radio guru, or someone that knows things we don't and wanna add it to the app. You can do so by buying the upgrade.
For us listeners. The free version is plenty fun, plenty reliable, and everything you could want.
I've tried a couple competing apps that say they do the same thing, but this one is the best so far. Most of the others only give you 15min of feed then require you to upgrade.

Like all free apps, there are limited things you can do and not all features are avaliable.
5-0 Radio Pro has the following:
- Ability to record feeds and email them
- Sleep timer and alarm (pointless personally)
- Siren Noise maker (again, pointless)
- 33,000 + more feeds (unnessecary if your just a local police scanner fan)
- "Cool" skins.
- Station search, instead of the list browse
- Music feeds
- News Radio
- etc.
Basically the pro version gives you complete access to all radio features in the palm of your hand, through your iphone. Again. If your just interested in a Police Scanner. This is the app for you.
